Rules

Students of Bajali College have to wear uniform within the college campus as approved by the authority. The uniform code for the students :

Boys : Orange shirt and  black pant
Girls : Orange kameez and  black salwar with black dupatta

• It is obligatory for all the students to come to the college wearing prescribed uniform. Students entering the campus without uniform are not allowed to enter their classes.
• All students must bring their college Identity Card at all times inside the college campus. In case of any loss or damage, the concerned student should inform the matter immediately to the college authority.
• Students must be regular and punctual in attending classes. At least 75% attendance is necessary for appearing in AHSEC and University examinations. In case of inability to attend classes due to unavoidable circumstances like sickness, etc. students will have to produce a Medical Certificate with an application from their respective guardians.
• Appearing in the class-tests, terminal and sessional examinations are obligatory for all students. If a student remains absent in any examination, re-examination will not be allowed except on Medical Ground.
• Submission of assignments, seminar papers, projects etc. as and when asked for by the respective departments is mandatory. Constant negligence in their submission of assignments is an offence.
• Students must be polite and courteous at all times whether they are in the class room or in the college premises. Exemplary behaviour costs nothing, but gains much.
• Ragging in any form, inside and outside the college and hostel campus is strictly prohibited. Students involved in anti-academic activity will be punished severely as per directives/provisions of the verdict of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
• Mobile phone are not allowed during class and examination hours. Any violation is subject to disciplinary action.
• Students must take care to promote cleanliness of the college. Spitting, writing, sticking anything on the college walls/rooms are strictly prohibited.
• Students should park their bicycles/two wheelers in the place allotted for that purpose.
• Loitering in the veranda or corridors when classes and examinations are on is not permitted.
• The college campus is a smoke/tobacco/drugs FREE ZONE. Students found violating these rules will be dealt with as per rules of the college.
• Students’ participation in all functions of the college including extra-curricular activities is mandatory.
• Disobedience, misconduct, violation of college rules, behaviour detrimental to the healthy growth of the college, adoption of unfair means during examinations, non-clearance of college and hostel dues without justifiable reason etc. are some of the offences which may make students liable for disciplinary action.
• Students must abide by the time schedules, rules and regulations, institutional objectives of the college.
• Students must read the college notices issued from time to time by the authority.

Students are advised to apprise themselves of the provisions of and punishment for Ragging as envisaged in the supreme court of India Judgement dated the 3rd July, 2001.

1. Ragging, for the purpose of this judgement ordinarily means any act, which

• Involves physical assault or threat thereof.
• Violates the status, dignity and honour of fellow students particularly women students.
• Exposes students to ridicule & contempt and thereby affecting their self esteem.
• Contain verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behavior.

2. Abetment to ragging is also considered tantamount to ragging.

Now, Ragging is completely banned in the college premises and Hostels. Punishments for indulging in ragging may include expulsion from the college. If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not identified, collective punishment could be imposed. No student shall plead ignorance of any provision mentioned here or to be notified from time to time.

• Use of mobile phone within the college premises is strictly prohibited.
• Chewing of tobacco and gutkha etc. within the college premises is strictly prohibited.
• Two wheelers at unreasonable speed and unnecessary honking of horns inside the college premises is strictly prohibited.

It is mandatory for all H.S. and T.D.C. students to appear at the unit tests/semester sessional examinations (including submission of home assignments and participation in the seminar, symposium, etc.) as per GU and AHSEC rules and the results will be forwarded to their respective guardians.

In examination related matters, the decision of the examination board and academic council of the college shall be final and binding.
